Process flow
Surface pretreatment: Before wire drawing, the surface of the aluminum foil needs to be cleaned and degreased to remove oil, dust and impurities on the surface to ensure the wire drawing effect and quality. It can be cleaned with organic solvents, alkaline solutions, etc., and then rinsed with clean water and dried.
Wire drawing: It is carried out through a wire drawing machine, which is equipped with a wire drawing wheel or a wire drawing die. The aluminum foil coil is placed in the wire drawing machine, and the wire drawing wheel or die applies a certain pressure on the surface of the aluminum foil and rolls or stretches it to form filamentary scratches on the surface of the aluminum foil, thereby producing a wire drawing effect. According to the required wire drawing effect, different wire drawing wheels or dies can be selected, such as straight wire wheels, random wire wheels, etc., to obtain different textures such as straight wire and random wire.
Post-processing: After wire drawing is completed, the aluminum foil may need to be further processed, such as cleaning, drying, and coating with a protective coating. The protective coating can prevent oxidation and corrosion on the surface of the aluminum foil, while increasing its wear resistance and weather resistance.
Process parameters
Drawing speed: Generally speaking, a lower drawing speed can make the drawing texture more uniform and delicate, but the production efficiency is low; while a higher drawing speed can improve production efficiency, it may cause uneven drawing texture and even surface defects. Usually, the drawing speed will be adjusted according to the thickness and material of the aluminum foil, as well as the specific drawing equipment and process requirements, ranging from a few meters to tens of meters per minute.
Drawing wheel pressure: Excessive pressure may cause excessive deformation or even rupture of the aluminum foil surface; too little pressure will not form a clear drawing texture. The appropriate pressure needs to be determined according to the thickness and hardness of the aluminum foil. For thinner and softer aluminum foils, less pressure is required; for thicker and harder aluminum foils, the pressure needs to be appropriately increased. The general pressure range is between a few Newtons and tens of Newtons.
Drawing wheel material and shape: The materials of the drawing wheel are usually metal, ceramic, etc. Metal wire drawing wheels have high hardness and wear resistance and can withstand greater pressure, but may generate higher friction heat on the surface of the aluminum foil; ceramic wire drawing wheels have better high temperature resistance and lower friction coefficient, which can reduce damage to the surface of the aluminum foil. The shape of the wire drawing wheel will also affect the wire drawing effect. For example, a cylindrical wire drawing wheel can produce a straight wire texture, while a wire drawing wheel with a special curved surface or pattern can produce a variety of unique textures.
